You will select ONE out of three potential research questions. The report should synthesise and critically appraise concepts, principles, theories, and research studies, from lectures and readings relevant to the research question.
In addition to applying the concepts from the course, this task will require some creative thought. For each question, you are asked how an organisation could use the course concepts to improve business outcomes. Marks will be awarded based on your knowledge of the theoretical and technical contents of the course, your understanding of the concepts covered, and your ability to synthesise and apply these concepts to solve problems.

1. Explain how individual differences such as attitudes, perception, learning styles, personality, emotion and motivation can affect how employees behave at work. Give at least one example of how an organisation can use an understanding of individual differences to improve employee efficiency.
2. People are strongly influenced by the opinions, behaviour and mere awareness of others. Give one example of when this has a positive effect on business outcomes and another example of when this has a negative effect on business outcomes. Can organisations use our human tendency to conform to their advantage and if so how? Comment on the extent to which such a policy is ethical.
3. Discuss whether well-being is determined by environmental factors or by underlying personality. What implications does this have for organisations? Give at least one example of how an organisation can improve the well-being of its customers and employees.
