The human resource plan is a comprehensive document that links business strategy and workforce strategy, toward the goal of aligning the human resource function with the strategic goals of the company. The plan consists of a Workforce Strategy (and map) that differentiates the identification and performance of key players in key jobs, toward the goal of maximizing overall company performance. It then identifies those key functions and their deliverables toward the achievement of that workforce strategy. The ultimate objective is to synthesize all previous HR coursework into a formalized plan that contributes to the achievement of company goals.

Team Charter
In this section, you will begin your course project, which is to develop a business plan for a business, that is, the case study for the course.
The first order of business is to join a team, select a Team Leader and Section Manager, and create a Team Charter.
Please note: All members will work together on all weekly submission drafts and the Course Project Final Paper.
Setting Up the Team and Creating the Team Charter |
---|
Your Professor will assign you to a team. To complete the section, please make sure you handle the following. 1. Create the Team Rules (included in Team Charter). In your first act together as a team, create a set of rules you all will follow. Rules such as “showing up to meetings on time” or “team meeting protocols” should be developed. This will require a team meeting (either Live, virtual, or through your team discussion threads) where you will brainstorm as a group and develop the rules of the team. 2. Create a Team Charter—use the Team Charter Template in Doc Sharing. *Because this course moves quickly, the recommended time to submit your Team Charter (with rules and topic) to your instructor is the end of Week 1. This allows your instructor time to approve your topic and team charter, or to recommend changes before you get too far into Week 2. 3. Select a Team Leader. 4. Select a Section (Component) Manager. Each member of the team MUST be a Section Manager for at least one topic in the class. This section will be graded individually, but it is expected that you consult with your team while you develop this section. |

These are suggestions for what could be included in this section.
The following are the best practices in preparing this paper.
• Cover Page—include who you prepared the paper for, who prepared it, and date.
• Table of Contents—list the main ideas and sections of your paper and the pages in which they are located. The illustrations should be included separately.
• Introduction—use a header on your paper. This will indicate you are introducing your paper.
The purpose of an introduction or opening is to
1. introduce the subject and why the subject is important;
2. preview the main ideas and the order in which they will be covered; and
3. establish a tone of the document.
Include in the Introduction a reason for the audience to read the paper. Also, include an overview of what you are going to cover in your paper and the importance of the material. (This should include or introduce the questions you are asked to answer on each assignment.)
• Body of Your Report—use a header titled with the name of your project (e.g., “The Development of Hotel X—A World Class Resort”). Then proceed to break out the main ideas. State the main ideas, state major points in each idea, and provide evidence. Break out each main idea you will use in the body of your paper. Show some type of division such as separate sections that are labeled, a separate group of paragraphs, or headers. You would include the information you found during your research and investigation.
• Summary and Conclusion—summarizing is similar to paraphrasing but presents the gist of the material in fewer words than the original. An effective summary identifies the main ideas and major support points from the body of your report. Minor details are left out. Summarize the benefits of the ideas.
• Work Cited—use the citation format as specified in the Syllabus.
Additional hints on preparing the best possible project.
1. Apply a three-step process of writing—plan, write, and complete.
2. Prepare an outline of your research paper before you go forward.
3. Complete a first draft and then go back to edit, evaluate, and make any required changes.
4. Use visual communication to further clarify and support the written part of your report. You could use example graphs, diagrams, photographs, flowcharts, maps, drawings, animation, video clips, pictograms, tables, and Gantt charts.
