Fitness assessment | Education homework help

As you proceed through this class, I hope you are able to apply the information to the program planning for your current client/athlete.  Some of you are already working as Personal Trainers, either one-on-one or with a team.  If so you will see many parallels, and hopefully the information provided in this class will help to improve your efficacy as a Personal Trainer.  If you do not currently work as a Personal Trainer, this is the time to start!!

For this first assignment, please choose a person with whom you would like to work with for the duration of this course.  *** this person must be 18years or older***  You will be their Personal Trainer, and they will be your client.  **** if no one comes to mind, you can use yourself as your “client”***

This will be the client you will use for all the assignments related to the NASM OPT Model, including your Final Project.

This is the first of several assignments that will build on each other, so it may help to review all of the assignments now before proceeding. To make things as smooth as possible, try to pick and individual that does not have any major health issues or limitations.

Once you identify your client, please perform a full fitness assessment on them.

  • Background history of your client
  • Subjective Information (use attached form “nasm-cpt-par-q”)
  • Cardiorespiratory Assessment (use attached form “nasm-cpt-cardio-assessment-template”)
  • Static Postural Assessment (use attached from “nasm-cpt-static-postural-assessment-template”)
  • Movement Assessment (use attached form “nasm-cpt-dynamic posture-assessment”)
  • Performance Assessments (these assessments can be done later, but for this assignment please list which performance assessment(s) you will do and the rationale for choosing them.)

Note: You are required to have your client actually perform the cardio, static, and dynamic postural assessments for this class

Please submit your assignment using a combination of narrative & any additional charts/graphs that you think are appropriate. You must also upload pictures/files of the forms used: PAR-Q, cardio assessment, static posture, and dynamic posture.

The narrative will include a background of your client and the findings of the assessments.  What are your client’s goal(s)? What postural compensations were noted and what are their associated muscle imbalances (use the attached NASM-CPT Assessment-Solutions-Table to determine these). What do you think are the potential causes of these compensations? Are there any precautions necessary due to illnesses, previous injury, or medications?  Is scheduling going to be a challenge? What Performance Assessments did you chose and why? What will be the implications of all this information gathered on your client’s program? While the answers to these questions will provide a lot of information, you do not have to limit your narrative to only answering these questions.

The written narrative of your paper should be at least 3 FULL pages (no longer than 6); of course, any charts or tables you add will definitely add to this.  Using charts and tables will help to provide visual guidance as to your client’s health status and your thought process.  Please support your rationale for using assessments and your conclusions with appropriate academic sources (minimum of 3 + your textbook = 4 References).

The writing component must meet all rules of APA formatting (6th edition) and MUST be submitted in WORD document format only.

  • title page
  • headers
  • page numbers
  • in-text citations
  • reference list

*with the title and reference pages, your entire submission will be no shorter than 5 pages.
