Question:
As a consultancy group you will need to analyse the projects on offer on the Business Consulting module shell BM561-19S1. The projects will be discussed in more detail in Week 3s class.Identify TWO which seem to be most interesting and which your group is capable of carrying out. Your job is then to pitch for these two projects. This is competitive and requires a fully polished and carefully rehearsed sales pitch, if you are to be successful in winning the business for one of your chosen projects.
Your pitch needs to be a maximum 10 minutes long. If it is any longer, you will be cut off by the markers. The overall aim of the presentation is to persuade us that you would be the best team to meet the needs of the respective clients.
Explore the clients business problem and briefly set it in context (target audience, competition, market) Demonstrate the fit between the clients requirements and the combined skills, expertise and experience ofthe team, giving specific examples.
Explore the clients business problem and briefly set it in context (target audience, competition, market) Demonstrate the fit between the clients requirements and the combined skills, expertise and experience of the team, giving specific examples.
It will be useful to apply techniques and ideas introduced in classes, for mapping skills against client needs. The main thing to ensure is that you make clear links between what you have to offer and what the client needs.
You are not required to solve the clients problems or offer solutions at this stage. This assignment has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your achievement of the following module learning outcomes:
LO 1 Deliver an effective business presentation/pitch demonstrating an understanding of the clients needs
LO 2 Perform efficiently and effectively as a collaborative member of a working group.
Task requirements
All team members must participate in the development and delivery of the presentation. Minutes of team meetings should be kept and although these do not need to be submitted, Chris and Suzanne may request to see them to help investigate equal participation.

How your work will be assessed
Your work will be assessed using the separate assessment grid, which takes into account the learning outcomes and the grading descriptors for Level 5.
Your work will be marked as a group and all members will receive the same mark, unless there is clear evidence of a difference in contribution. Please see the separate Group Work Policy Statement.
Please also note that work that is submitted up to 10 working days beyond the submission date will be considered a late submission. Late submissions will be marked and the actual mark recorded, but will be capped at the pass mark (typically 40%), provided that the work is of a passing standard. Work submitted after this period will not be marked and will be treated as a non-submission.
