Rapidly changing world puts greater emphasis on creative skills says Daniel Pink.  (2007, Nov 22).  Al Bawaba.  Retrieved from http://search.proquest.com/docview/194852458?accountid=141600

In Chapter 10, you learned about a number of motivational theories including: the Needs Hierarchy Approach, the Two-Factor Theory, Expectancy Theory, Goal-Setting Theory, and Reinforcement.  You also learned about the management strategies that are used to apply those theories to motivate employees, such as Empowerment and Participation, Alternative Forms of Work Arrangements, and Reward Systems (including Executive compensation).

1.   Discuss some of the common themes of these theories.  Focus on two of the theories and compare them to each other and also discuss what is different about them.

2.   Then, discuss some of the new scientific thoughts reviewed by Daniel Pink on these theories?  Incorporate intrinsic motivation, autonomy, mastery and purpose (as shown in the video) into your discussion.  How do you think leaders in business should respond to this? Find a sentence in the textbook that supports your thoughts and cite it appropriately.

Be sure to include a Reference section at the end of your paper that includes the videos and the textbook.
