When an employee starts a new job one of the first and most important things that they must do is attend employee orientation so that they understand the rules and regulations regarding the company that they are working for. According to Heneman, organizations see the orientation program as a crucial part of their culture formation process because an effective orientation program will foster an understanding of the organization’s culture and values. It will help the new employee understand his or her role and how he or she fits into the entire organization.
