Public speaking | Human Resource Management homework help

By Saturday, July 11, 2015, go to the Discussion Area and post responses to two of the options of your choice.

Option 1

Choose two of the following speech clips.

Discuss the speaker’s use of language. How closely did the speaker follow the textbook’s guidelines for using language effectively? What phrases, if any, were especially memorable? How could the speaker improve his or her use of language in order to have a more effective speech? (Don’t forget to tell us which speech clip you used for this assignment.)

Option 2

Choose two of the following speech clips.

Discuss the speaker’s nonverbal communication—this can include such factors as tone of voice, eye contact, gestures, posture, and dress. What aspects of the speaker’s nonverbal delivery improved his or her overall presentation? What aspects of the speaker’s nonverbal delivery detracted from his or her presentation? What suggestions for improvement would you suggest if you were critiquing this speaker? (Don’t forget to tell us which speech clip you used for this assignment.)

Option 3

Think about how the attributes (pitch, volume, pace and quality, articulation) of a speaker’s voice can be positive or negative. Are either extremes of these qualities positive or negative? Identify a public figure who you feel has an exceptional voice. Explain what factors make his or her voice so exceptional.

Choose two options for your response, and make two posts in the Discussion Area below. Make sure that you list your option number in the subject line of your post.

Before the end of the week, begin commenting on at least 2 of your peers’ responses. You can ask technical questions or respond generally to the overall experience. Be objective, clear, and concise. Always use constructive language, even in criticism, to work toward the goal of positive progress. Submit your responses to the appropriate topic in this Discussion Area.
