PLEASE I NEED THIS BY THURSDAY….. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTIONS CLEARLY..
I WOULD LIKE YOU TO DO A POWERPOINT…..
OBJECTIVE
Through this presentation assignment, we will gain some practice by using the communication tools discussed so far this month and in situations where you may not have advanced time to prepare.
Sometimes a speech or presentation can be very formal and one that we have time to prepare and plan. However, in our day-to-day communication we use what we call Informal Communication. This type of communication is more casual and typically used with friends, colleagues, or others in conversation.
INSTRUCTIONS
This week we will be focusing on how to communicate on a topic that interests you to an audience that is not familiar with the topic.
Using the Three Pillars of Public Speaking: Ethos, Pathos, Logos, and your understanding of verbal and non-verbal techniques, you will demonstrate your ability to connect with your audience by attempting to persuade them to try something you are passionate about.
Follow the steps below for details about the required components of your presentation.
STEP 1
In this first step, imagine that you meet someone at an event that is from out of this world (literally!) and you start a conversation with them about something that you love, but they are not familiar with. Your goal is to persuade your new friend that they should experience, participate or take action to learn more about what you are describing.
Below are some examples that may inspire you:
Remember: you are not just speaking on what you love but explaining the topic so that they take action to know more about it. Think about why this is important for your new friend and in what ways they could utilize or benefit from it.
You should consider Full Sail’s GPS standards when you are making your choice.
Now that you have identified your chosen topic, let’s move to step 2 of the assignment.
STEP 2
Based on your chosen topic, now it’s time to consider your key points.
To accomplish this, your assignment should include each element below:
Tip: It may be helpful to first create a script so you can formally identify your key points while having a structure for your speech, a beginning, middle, and end. If you choose to first create a script, be sure that you are creating it with the 2 to 3 minute timeframe in mind.
STEP 3
It’s now time to create the audio and visual elements of your presentation.
The delivery must be a 2 to 3 minute narrated presentation, utilizing audio and four (4) supporting images. Your audio will include the key points from step 2 that will guide your conversation with your new friend. Note: You want to ensure that the images are high-resolution, do not have watermarks, and are royalty-free.
When gathering your images, consider what images you would want the audience to view that you could display on your phone or tablet. To compose your assignment, you can use any production tool that allows for both visual elements and a recorded oral presentation (Keynote, PowerPoint, Creative Cloud Express (formally Adobe Spark), Adobe Premiere Rush).
For more information about creating an audio/visual presentation be sure to review the Week 3 Resources activity.
